News Trading Policy

Restricted News Trading Activities: Trade thoughtfully, especially around news releases. The following activities are strictly forbidden:

  • Using strategies designed to capitalize on immediate news bursts, such as straddles or strangles.

  • Masking news trades as regular trading strategies.

It applies to all news releases.

Standard Trading Guidelines:

  • Follow your usual trading system during news events.

  • Start trades according to your standard entry rules.

  • Make sure there are no open positions or active orders 2 minutes before and after any data release.

Tier 1 Data: Special Considerations

  • No positions or orders (including limit orders) can be open 2 minutes before and after Tier 1 Data Releases.

Tier 1 News Includes:

  • For All Traders: FOMC Meetings, FOMC Minutes, Employment Report, CPI

  • For Energy Traders: EIA

  • For Agricultural Traders: Agricultural Reports

Trading During Other News Releases: While adhering to the prohibited activities and standard protocols, you may trade other news releases if it aligns with your regular trading strategy. Be aware that data issues or disruptions with Rithmic/Tradovate may occur during news events, and FutureFunded is not liable for any issues that arise during these times.

Policy Enforcement: This policy ensures a fair trading environment for all and is enforced to protect both our traders and the firm. News trading is not simulated 1:1 with live markets and is therefore not allowed. Your compliance with this policy contributes to a stable trading environment.
